Employee who earns a basic salary and more than 50% of his annual income from commission

1. IRP 5 Certificate from employer
2. IT3 tax certificate from bank or institution holding your savings and investments
3. Tax Certificates from your Retirement annuity fund
4. Tax certificate from your medical aid
5. Car Logbook clearly indicating for the year total km travelled and the personal business split
6. If you have a home office that is used exclusively for business you may claim all expenses relating to the maintenance of your home office.

TOP TIP: If you incur medical expenses that you know your medical aid will not pay, send it to the claims department anyway so that they can add it to your tax certificate as ‘claims not paid by the fund’. You may still get the tax benefit of these expenses on your tax return.
